A violet wand typically consists of a hand held "wand" made of plastic which encases an high voltage electrical transformer. The base of the handle has a permanently attached electrical cord which plugs directly into a wall outlet. The wand has an intensity level control and sometimes an on/off switch, usually located near where the electrical cord is attached.
Some models operate on an electromagnetic disruptive discharge circuit while others are powered by electronic circuitry or combinations of the two. Various electrodes are inserted into and used with the violet wand to provide the sensations. A violet wand electrode is usually made of clear tempered glass which is sealed and evacuated and backfilled with a noble gas, typically argon and sometimes neon, in a process similar to the manufacturing of neon signs.
The high voltage current causes the plasma inside the electrode to excite, emitting a glowing color when the wand operates and through which the spark emits. The appearance and process is identical to plasma globes, though the net discharge is higher in order to create spark streamers external to the glass which cause the desired sensation to the skin. |

I played with this at a party this weekend, and everyone really enjoyed it. It can be strong enough to really get someone, but it's not going to scar or brand you (the more expensive and powerful wands can.)
At this price it's a great buy.
Advantages: Cost, can add new electrodes not in the kit, very fun!
Disadvantages: Might not be as intense as the $500 wands, but a fantastic starter.
Would love it if the kit came with a body-contact accessory (it electrifies your body and lets you fingertip-zap your partner).

I love love this wand. It was cheap compared to most wands on the market which make you a bit weary but Ive had no issues so far. It comes with the standered set of electrodes. You can get it a few different colors. Easy to use, Nice case, everything from a warm tingle to a jolting shock.
Advantages: To many to list you can use it at low setting for a relaxing warming tingle, or go for gusto and zap yourself or your partner. Its AMAZING for Forplay and also fun. Me and My guy were in the room giggling and saying wow for a good hour. There are endless options on how to and where to use this. It seems to me like after a little play with this bad boy you are a little more sensitive too. I love it love it love it. Great for bdsm play or just playing in general.
Disadvantages: Nothing I can think of really

This customer purchased the item at our site.
This is an excellent product for the price. Many violet wand kits can cost up to 6 or 7 hundred dollars, and this is a great way for people to experiment and feel the sensations without breaking the bank.
Advantages: Great price, lots of attachments. Good for beginners
Disadvantages: Not very powerful.
