Vicacious Vulvas

by funlove on July 2, 2010

Often, people refer to the whole area “down there” as the vagina, but really, the whole enchilada (or pink taco?) is called the vulva. This consists of the mons pubis (the area of softness above the pubic bone), the labia majora (outer lips, naturally they usually have hair), the labia minora (inner lips, thinner, hairless), the clitoris (one of the pleasure centers), the clitoral hood (keeps the clit from getting over stimulated, protects it, and pulls back when the clitoris engorges), the urethral opening (where urine comes out), the vagina/vaginal canal (hole that leads inside the body, feels good to have things inserted, where vaginal childbirth occurs, where the G-spot is, etc), the perinium (between the anus and vagina, can feel good to have it stimulated) and the anus (aka, the butt hole).

Below is a picture to kind of help you out. It’s hard, because looking at all of this often requires a mirror, but it’s so important that we learn about our own bodies, and those of our partners. I hope this gives you a little better look at the vulva, and what it entails.
