January 4, 2010) – Fascinations, the leading educational romance retailer, is continuing to further its commitment to sexual health and well-being by adding a new full time staff member; national sex educator Shanna Katz. Katz will be serving as Fascinations’ resident sexuality educator, both online and within the communities Fascinations serves. By bringing her on board, Fascinations will be able to advance its online and in-store educational experience, providing accurate, research-based information regarding sexual health. Katz will also be attending Fascinations’ sponsored events and hosting workshops, sharing her knowledge and sex-positive message with Fascinations’ guests.
Katz has a BA in Sociology from Colorado College and a Masters in Human Sexuality Education from Widener University. Throughout the past four years, she has written for several sex-positive companies, including Good Vibrations, Ask Dan and Jennifer, Out Front Colorado, EdenFantasys, and Jane’s Guide. Additionally, she has presented workshops, discussions and classes across the US, including at SUNY-Purchase (NY), The Center for Sex Positive Culture (WA), Hysteria (CO), Sex 2.0 (DC), and Passional (PA). Katz is an active member of AASECT, the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists, and also has a strong background in social media marketing.

Additionally, she hopes to create partnerships with other established sex educators and sexuality writers, further building the sex-positive community that Fascinations has established and maintained for so long.
